Kamal began dancing before the tender age of five. He sung in his church choir and ministered in dance. Kamal was an excellent and stellar student throughout elementary, high school and college. He loved dance, but he also soared and excelled in the classroom, studio and on every stage.
He cared greatly about his family, friends, peers, and colleagues.
Kamal D. Johnson was known as a dancing phenom. He was full of life, joy, and rhythm. His smile was able to light up any room he entered. Not only did he excel in dancing, but he also excelled in his academics. A son, brother, friend, and community servant, Kamal D. Johnson was loved by so many. He was full of life; the perfect example of what a model teenager should be.
Unexpectedly, he transitioned to be with his Heavenly Father.
The Kamal D. Johnson Scholarship Foundation was established to continue the legacy of Kamal D. Johnson. His dedication to his studies and passion for dance is woven into the scholarship foundation. His life will continue to impact generations to come.
